Orchestras
At NHS, we have three orchestras that rehearse and perform year-round. All orchestras classes are placed by an audition at the end of each school year.
The Symphonic Orchestra is the top performing group. The 5th hour class is made up of string players, and once a week, wind players to form a Full Symphony Orchestra. This group plays advanced literature and is taught by Mr. Waddell and Mr. Chandler.
The Philharmonic Orchestra is the second performing group. The 3rd hour class is made up of younger string players and plays medium literature and is taught by Mr. Waddell.
The Concert Orchestra is the third performing group. The 2nd hour class is made up of the youngest string players and plays literature at a level that is best for student success. This class is taught by Mr. Waddell.
